Everest Helicopter Flight
Choose a route of the ultimate helicopter flights

Fly from Kathmandu by a helicopter in skies of the hill of Syangboche in the Khumbu region, Gokyo Peak and Kalapattar (Everest base camps). This flight is under the conditions. One is the weather may affect a flight. The other is a person onboard is required having the physical tolerance for high pressure (higher than altitude 5,000m). However, viewing the world mountain ridge Himalayas, this helicopter flight is the ultimate tool.

The tariff below is the charges (fees) for one person on one helicopter.
A couple people ride on a helicopter, the additional charges are required such as the entrance fee of Sagarmatha National Park, airport tax and other charges.  Please enquire the charges for a couple of people in group.

Route A: Time: about 2.5 – 3 hours
Kathmandu – Lukla – Hill of Syangboche (about 30 minute stay) - Kathmandu

Fly from Kathmandu via Lukla along the Everest road, via skies of Namche Bazar to head to the hill of Syangboche to view the Everests.  The sceneries spread out of Everest, Lotzs and Ama Dablam.

Route B: Time: about 2.5 – 3 hours
Kathmandu – Lukla – Kalapattar – Everest Base Camp - Kathmandu

Fly from Kathmandu via Lukla to the base camps along the Everest road. Viewing shortly the villages of Namche Bazar, Khumjung and Tyangboche beneath, fly in skies of Khumbu　Glacier. An icefall appears in front while flying into skies of Everest base camps from Kalapattar. View the Himalaya folds of Chukkung and Ama Dablam close at hand.

Route C: Time: about 3 – 4 hours

※Depend on the weather condition on the day and the restriction made by air terminal or control tower, the departure time may delay.  Also, the flight would be cancelled by the judgement made by the pilot, the paid amount deducted the handling charge US$50 is refunded.

●The famous celebrated mountains in the Khumbu mountain group

This represents the mountain group of Himalayas include the world highest Mt. Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m) and Cho Oyu (8,201m) are higher than 8,000m's.  In 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, a sherpa succeeded in climbing to the summit (top) of Mt. Everest from the south face in Nepal side at the first time.  In 1956, the Swiss group did of Mt. Lhotse, in 1955, the French group did of Mt. Makalu and in 1954, and the Australian group did of Cho Oyu, respectivelly.  In 60 years, the manners and gears of climbing mountain have drastically changed.  And, a helicopter can approach to the world highest mountain ridge is a dreamy tale.

Could you inform us the day you want to fly, the number of people with names (exactly the same spelling in alphabet on the passport), and car service (if you need car services, your hotel name is informed us).  We explain the concrete flying routes, altitude sickness, etc., and then the estimation of costs is made in formal.

■Altitude sickness

Once you ride off from the helicopter from Kathmandu (in altitude 1,300m) to Lukla (in altitude 2800m), but if the destination is the sky over Kalapattar, the helicopter soars up higher than 5,000-5,500m at once.  Because the helicopter does not have an equipment to adjust air pressure, the subject person of this tour is limited who have experience of being higher than 5,000m with no problem before, and have done a “health examination” for high altitude. (If an altitude sickness would be happened, then the flight operation is stopped to return back.  The activity in high altitude accompanies a risk of life so easy participation is prohibited.)

■Number of people (passengers)

The maximum 5 people can ride on a helicopter.  However, the scenery can be seen differently by the seat in actual.  If a purpose to ride in the helicopter is to observe or to shoot a picture of mountains, one person (on the seat beside a pilot) or 3 people in maximum (all people can sit on the window side seat) are recommendable. 

■Communication with a pilot

Communicate wearing a headphone and using microphone.  Communication is required knowing the flight rout, explanation on the scenery, and the emergency happened such as altitude sickness.  All communication is done in English, so if you want a Japanese speaking interpreter to accompany with you, please contact and request us. 

■Confirm on the flight route and the mountain location beforehand

The person once trekked in the Everest region, can respond to the scenery of “mountain amphitheater” saying “It’s Pumo Ri. That’s Cho Oyu,” but for the person to view at first may need a ｓimulation how the mountains and glacier can be seen,  The time flying over by a helicopter is short and all is in white,  It is not easy to identify which is which.
